Pastor

Reverend Mills is a Raleigh native who had been in full-time ministry since 2001. He is a gifted preacher, a wise counsel, and a dedicated leader. His wife and their daughters love living in and serving Beaufort.

Rhoda Allred

Assist. to Pastor for Visitation

Rhoda was born and raised in Beaufort. She has a heart for senior adults, the impaired, and any who are left behind in society. She not only helps arrange the pastor’s visits, she is also in lay visitation ministry herself.

Joe McCreary

Music Director

Joe is a local school music teacher and band director. He directs two vocal choirs and a handbell choir at the church. Many Sundays he plays his trumpet too.

Kandice Davis

Organist

A former church music director, Kandice now enjoys accompanying the choir and the congregation from Ann Street UMC’s historic organ or from the grand piano.

Julia Royall Johnson

Children’s and Youth Ministries and Director of Alternate School Care (ASC)

Julia has worked in youth ministry for several years at the local church, district, and conference levels. She uses her spirit and skills to help youth and children grow in the Lord.

Polly Conrad

Church Secretary

Polly came to Ann Street UMC from a career in the financial sector. She is adept at managing multiple and various tasks while greeting everyone with kindness.

Chris Barnes

Preschool Director

Ann Street UMC has a renowned preschool under Chris’ excellent leadership. She and her great staff care for and nurture many children daily. Be sure and go to our Preschool page.

Laura Lewis

Financial Secretary

Laura administers the financial ministry of the church on a day-to-day basis. Through her dedication and attention to detail, Ann Street UMC is equipped to be in vibrant ministry.

Lee Jones

Sexton

Lee maintains the daily operation and housekeeping of the church’s two buildings as well as the grounds between them. He’s the go-to guy for just about anything we need.

Rachel Wyman Dawson

Communication Specialist

Rachel Wyman Dawson handles social media and our online presence. The rest of the time she is a licensed physical therapist, Sunday school teacher, and preschool mom.

Ann Street United Methodist Church is located in historical Beaufort, North Carolina on the corner of Ann and Craven Streets. Nestled along the Crystal Coast, downtown Beaufort is a community whose history is over 300 years old. We encourage you to visit any of our worship services at 10 am, or click the Virtual Schedule tab to see online community events. Due to COVID, we only have one service at 10am which you can attend in person or online on our Facebook page. Please click on the Coronavirus tab for details.
