We celebrate that the coronavirus hasn’t stopped worship at ASUMC. Through technology we haven’t missed a Sunday. But now we are ready to offer another way to worship: in-person worship. If you aren’t comfortable being in a gathering yet, don’t worry. Our service will continue streaming on our Facebook page each Sunday at 10AM. If you’re open to attending in person, we want you to know that THIS SUNDAY, July 12, at 10AM will be our first in-person service back in the sanctuary!
We’re taking lots of precautions to make sure you can SAFELY worship in-person. Please read them carefully here. They include temperature checks at the door and socially distanced seating (the pews have been marked for you). Please wear a mask on your way in and on your way out, but you don’t have to wear a mask during the service once you’re seated. Ushers will be helping seat you at the beginning and dismiss you row-by-row at the end so you can come and go safely. Again, please read all of the protocols and precautions here before joining us this Sunday or any following Sunday.
One other note: please arrive early and leave a bit of extra time for the screening/seating process. When we practice social distancing in our seating (side to side and front to back) our sanctuary has a max capacity of about 84 people. If you arrive and the sanctuary has met max capacity, please go to the Fellowship Hall where we will have the service livestream projected on the screen. Chairs in the fellowship hall will be spaced for social distancing. It’s not quite like being in the sanctuary, but it offers you a chance to worship alongside some of your brothers and sisters in Christ!
The coronavirus is an ever-changing situation for our whole community, state, and country. Rest assured that our coronavirus task force will actively monitor the situation and we’ll adjust our worship practices in accordance with guidance from conference, local, and state leadership. But we are all set for your return. Please join me in thanking the members of the task force:
