Youth Ministry
Growing Together in Faith

The middle and high school years are filled with exciting opportunities, new experiences, and important decisions. They are also a time when young people begin asking some of life's biggest questions about identity, purpose, relationships, and faith. At Ann Street United Methodist Church, our Youth Ministry provides a welcoming and supportive environment where students can explore these questions through the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Our goal is to help every student develop a personal relationship with Christ while building lasting friendships with peers and trusted adult leaders who encourage, mentor, and pray for them throughout their journey.

Youth Breakfast Club

Sunday mornings for youth begin at our Breakfast Club in the coffee shop down the street. It's a space where conversation naturally wanders between the week's events, Scripture, big questions, unexpected laughter, and   whatever else happens to be on someone's mind. We think discipleship looks a lot like that: sharing life before trying to explain it.

By worship, you'll find our youth woven into the life of the congregation. Reading Scripture. Serving as acolytes. Helping with younger children. Singing, praying, wondering, and worshipping alongside every generation. Young people don’t have to wait to belong. They already do.

Some seasons invite us onto the road together. Pilgrimage. Gatherings with our District youth groups (Sound District is AWESOME!).  Service projects. Retreats. Every experience becomes another opportunity to know one another more deeply, to see God in a new place, and to discover that faith isn't confined to a building or a Sunday morning.

Crew Bar - Every Sunday

Following Jesus means putting faith into practice. Our Youth Ministry offers opportunities to serve both within our church family and throughout the local community. Whether participating in mission projects, helping with church events, supporting local outreach ministries, or serving neighbors in need, students discover the joy of living out Christ's command to love God and love others.

These experiences help youth develop compassion, leadership, responsibility, and a lifelong heart for Christian service.

Journey with Jesus
Confirmation Classes

Journey with Jesus is our invitation to young people to deepen their relationship with God, the Church, and one another. Every confirmation cohort brings new experiences to the coursework. Their unique questions, perspectives, gifts, and personalities uncover new pathways in this journey.

Together, we step into the great story of our faith. We explore Scripture, Church history, worship, the United Methodist tradition, and what it means to follow Jesus with curiosity, courage, and joy. We ask honest questions, welcome meaningful conversation, and discover that faith is big enough to hold both wonder and wisdom.

Confirmation is a personal decision - one meaningful step in a journey traveled over a lifetime. Our prayer is that every young person leaves with a deeper understanding of God's story, a growing confidence in their place within it, and the courage to keep walking wherever God may lead.

Because every cohort is different, every Journey with Jesus experience is thoughtfully crafted alongside the youth who are walking in it. The length, rhythm, and focus of each journey may vary as we prayerfully discern what will best serve the individual as well as the group. If Journey with Jesus sounds like the next step for your faith, we'd love to share more about upcoming opportunities.
